Data we collect
Account data: email, display name, profile photo, bio, city, mood, interests. Usage data: communities joined, waves, messages metadata, device type, app version. Location data: only when you enable Vibe or location-based features. Business data: if you list a spot, we collect business details you submit.
How we use data
To provide and personalize the service, show nearby people and spots, prevent abuse, send transactional notifications, improve product quality, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data.
Storage & processors
Data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (including Supabase/PostgreSQL and object storage in approved regions). We use email delivery (Resend), analytics, and may use LiveKit for real-time chat. Each processor is bound by contractual safeguards.
Profile photos
Photos you upload are stored in encrypted object storage and served via CDN URLs. You can change or remove your photo anytime from profile settings.
Retention
We retain account data while your account is active. Deleted accounts are soft-deleted and purged within 90 days except where law requires longer retention (e.g. payment records).
Your rights
You may access, correct, or delete your data, withdraw consent for optional processing, and lodge a complaint with our Grievance Officer. Email privacy@hellobuzz.in with subject "Data Request".
Children
HELLO is not directed at users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. See our Child Safety Standards for our prohibition of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE).
Security
We use encryption in transit (TLS), hashed credentials, JWT sessions, and access controls. No system is 100% secure; report concerns to security@hellobuzz.in.
